I awake - surreal A tale I dreamt as I slept Scars - Reality.
Anti - nausea pills
Hide in my purse like soldiers Waiting to defend
Nurse in hazmat suit "For my protection, not yours"
Dressed to kill cancer
Of tea and tissues
And items of great comfort Necessary things
Which bring me great warmth
As I shiver in chemo Crying toxic tears.
A thistle grew tall spreading its cancerous seed Eliminate it -
It must be removed! Lingering day after day
Yanked from earthen bed
The garden - transformed Ugliness swiftly removed Beauty can flourish
Crying while dreaming
Are nightmares reality?
When will I awake?
Elliptical paths Cycle of repeat - worn floor
Endlessly looping
