Chemical Annihilation

Little white sprouts
WHITE
Shouting,
"Set me free!"
Like soldiers
Standing tall
Surveying a battle field.
A chemical annihilation
Took place HERE And we are
Unwavering heroes.
WE
Withstood this carnage.
WE
are reminders of what took place.
This new hair
Old in appearance due to its whiteness - Lays a quarter inch
on the scalp
Resting,
Like the tired aged.
Reminding me
Of old photographs
Where brave men lie
Dead
Bodies strewn every which way.
Gone are the eyelashes. They cannot hide
What my eyes see. They cannot capture a tear Nor hold it.
