Making Strides

Last week, I struggled to run for three minutes straight at this pace. I interspersed one minute walks, so it looked like this:
1W, 3R, 1W, 2R, 1W, 2W = 10 minutes
Then, I pushed it:
.5W, 4R, 1W, 3R, 1W, 1.5R... = 11 min
And then, this.
A mile in under twelve minutes.
So, I did it again. Feb 7: 12:00 minutes
Feb 8: 11:40
Feb 9: 11:10
There is nothing better than recognizing that the body can heal itself if we let it.
If we nourish it with great high protein food (thanks, Vessel Kitchen).
And believe that it can get stronger with each day. If we exercise.
If we stretch.
If we sleep.
If we train.
If we listen. What can your body do?
Mine can run again.
I'm pleased with how far my cardio has come back in under two months.
Just 40 seconds more to shave off my mile to be where I was before chemo started.
FORTY seconds.
My new goal: A mile in under 11 minutes - back where I started. (Note: 10:57 minute miles over three miles was my last timed run.)
Watch for me to crush it.
